About Kathryn
For more than 20 years, Kathryn has shared her passion for the harp through performing and teaching. She loves the unique ability of this beautiful instrument to entertain, educate, and heal.
As a soloist, Kathryn has excelled at both a state and national level, earning nine consecutive Superior ratings at the American Harp Society Utah Chapter's Spring Festival. She has also performed as a Concerto Night soloist and won a Talent Award at the Miss Utah 2009 competition. She performed for many years as Principal Harpist with Millennial Choirs and Orchestras, including a concert in Carnegie Hall. She has played as a guest artist in several small ensemble concerts with Salonnieres and provided music at the premier party for Cirque du Soleil's Amaluna in Phoenix.
Kathryn's students have been awarded top ratings at the AHS Utah Spring Festival and the Royal Music Exams administered in Phoenix. Most recently, her student won first prize at the 2024 Arizona Harp competition.
Kathryn studied with Julie Gaisford Keyes of the Orchestra at Temple Square and with Jessica Warren at Brigham Young University, where she also performed with the university harp ensemble. She went on to complete a master's degree in Learning Sciences, which gives her the ability to teach both children and adults with unique and effective techniques.
Kathryn lives in Gilbert, Arizona with her husband and four children. She is a busy event harpist and enjoys teaching.
